The Danube
The Danube flows through various landscapes and connects Central Europe with the southeast. At 2857 kilometres, it is the second longest river in Europe.
On its way to the Black Sea, the Danube flows through 10 countries and is a border river with a length of 1071 km. Its catchment area covers 817,000 square kilometres.
From the official source of the Danube in Donaueschingen to the German-Austrian border in Jochenstein, near the Haus am Strom, the Danube has already covered 633 kilometres and has grown into a considerable river.
